In the report, the Committee highlights the inadequacy of insurance arrangements for athletes and encourages state and territory governments to engage with professional sporting organisations to explore how the general exclusion of professional sports people from various state and territory workers’ compensation schemes could be removed. In this webinar, Dr Eric Windholz from Monash University will examine current insurance arrangements for athletes, the exemption from workers’ compensation of professional sportspersons, and options for reform considering the Senate Inquiry's recommendations.
