Future Impacts of AI on the Sports Industry

In the last 3 years ASTN has supported more than 30 WA startups through its Accelerator, Pre-Accelerator Programs and international trade delegations. More than 500 guests participated in 9 networking events, 6 Sportwest masterclasses, 2 investment pitching opportunities and 1 industry roundtable. All these activities have been based on the aim of coordinating and growing the sector – jobs, investment and export.

Join us for an engaging session to understand how artificial intelligence is likely to impact the future of sports, from leaders of Australia’s sportstech and innovation sector. The event will commence with a tour of the new Edith Cowan University hosted by the Pro Vic-Chancellor of Sport, Professor Sophia Nimphius.

AI is impacting every industry including sports, as AI-powered tools become more common in every level of our lives. This session will explore how AI is impacting sport and how it is expected to impact everything from high performance analytics, to club management operations and personalised fan engagement in the future.

With the Australian Sports Commission recently releasing guidelines on the responsible use of AI as well as a roadmap to help sports harness the potential of AI, the session will highlight opportunities and considerations that sports and startups need to take when developing and deploying such tools.
