Session 1: Digital Transformation in Sport
What is digital transformation, and is my Sports organisation ready to embrace digital and technology advances to unlock opportunities and address challenges?
In times where organisations of all kinds are looking for efficiencies and improved engagement, sport also must deal with limited support, both in terms of financial and human resources. Difficulty in retaining sponsorship, lack of access to volunteers as well as competitive pressures from other sports and recreation activities are some of the drivers that may prompt a sports organisation to review its digital transformation. In addition, members, participants and fans have expectations of additional digital touchpoints and engagement. Even if the willingness for digital transformation is recognised and acknowledged by sports executives, identifying the necessary steps can be difficult.
This session will introduce a roadmap to help build capacity and capability in the digital transformation journey, supported by references to recent case studies.
Session 2: AI and Sports
AI is impacting every industry including sports. What is AI, and how can sports use AI tools to improve operational efficiencies and engage better with their members and fans?
AI-powered tools have become more common at every level of our lives. With the Australian Sports Commission releasing its responsible AI guidelines, this session will provide an overview of AI in Sports, an introduction to a responsible-use framework and share steps organisations can take now to make use of such tools. Based on previous collaboration with the experts at CSIRO Data61 and ASTN member companies, this session will highlight opportunities and considerations, organisations need to take when deploying such tools.
