QLD: What We’re Building, Backing & Breaking Through

Join us for an engaging evening to learn, connect and get a clear view of what’s happening across Queensland’s sport, technology and innovation ecosystem.
Date: Wednesday 18 February 2026
Time: 4:00–7:00pm
Venue: The Precinct, Fortitude Valley
QLD: What We’re Building, Backing & Breaking Through

This event brings together people working across sport, technology, research, government and related sectors to share what’s being built, backed and breaking through across the State. You’ll hear directly from people on the ground, see emerging ideas and initiatives, and contribute your own perspective through a live ecosystem pulse designed to capture what the ecosystem is seeing, experiencing and needing right now.

The evening is designed to be open, interactive and conversational — focused on real activity, practical insights and meaningful connections rather than long presentations or formal panels.

ASTN-led Initiative in Queensland

ASTN announced new agreements with the Queensland Government’s Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) and the Department of Sport, Racing and Olympic and Paralympic Games (DSROPG), to deliver a program of work aimed at strengthening Queensland’s sportstech and sports innovation ecosystem.

Queensland’s Science and Innovation Strategy

The Queensland Government is developing a science and innovation strategy to create jobs, boost the regions and industries, attract investment, and solve challenges.

DETSI is inviting input from industry, universities, researchers, and the community to shape a strategy that will deliver for Queensland. For further details and submit insights, please visit https://www.detsi.qld.gov.au.
