ASTN is co-delivering the Australia-India Sports Industry Summit with Austrade, taking a delegation of Australian companies to Delhi and Mumbai from 7 to 10 December 2026.

India is emerging as one of the world's most dynamic sports markets, driven by rising consumer demand, growing participation and a pipeline of high-profile events. With plans to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games and a bid for the 2036 Olympic Games, India is creating substantial opportunity for Australian businesses across sports infrastructure, event delivery, sportstech, performance systems and commercial partnerships.

Australia's global leadership in high-performance sport complements India's ambition to become a leading destination for elite sport and major event delivery. This mission is designed to position Australia as a partner of choice in that growth, and to give Australian companies a structured, supported path into the market.

• Sun 6 December Participants arrive in Delhi
• Mon 7 December (Day 1) Market, government and regulatory briefings; industry roundtable with key stakeholders
• Tue 8 December (Day 2) Site visits; targeted business matching
• Wed 9 December (Day 3) Travel to Mumbai; targeted roundtables by subsector stream
• Thu 10 December (Day 4) Curated forum including plenary sessions and panel discussions; program debrief and delegation close

Who should participate

Austrade is seeking expressions of interest from Australian exporters that:

• Are a registered Australian business with a current ABN
• Have innovative capability in sportstech, sports education and training, sports nutrition, or sports infrastructure and services
• Have a viable product offering with existing customers and revenue, or funding in place to support market expansion
• Have, or are looking to establish, a presence in South Asia and are interested in expanding into India
• Can clearly articulate their company objectives and growth vision
• Can travel to Delhi and Mumbai to attend all activities between 7–10 December 2026

Cost

Accepted participants will be invoiced AUD 500 per company by Austrade. Participants cover their own travel costs, including flights, visas, accommodation, incidentals and shipping. Places are strictly limited.

How to apply

Submit an expression of interest by Wednesday 14 October 2026. Austrade's country and sector specialists will assess applications as they are received, against the criteria above and contact applicants regarding the outcome. An expression of interest is not a confirmed registration.

Program Support

As a member of the Trade Diversification Network, ASTN is partnering with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) to deliver the Australia-India Sports Industry Summit. The Trade Diversification Network is at the heart of the Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI), a $55 million program designed and jointly delivered by Austrade and industry, helping Australian exporters diversify their export markets and take advantage of new export growth opportunities.
