Held in the lead-up to LIV Golf Adelaide, the event brought together leaders from sport, technology, data, media, startups, investment and government to explore how innovation is shaping elite performance, fan engagement and the future of professional sport. The session highlighted the role South Australia continues to play as a strong validation and test market for emerging sports technologies, with increasing relevance on the global stage.
The event opened with a keynote address from Chris Heck, President of Business Operations at LIV Golf, who shared insights into LIV Golf’s global growth, its approach to innovation, and the importance of partnerships with technology providers and local ecosystems to deliver new experiences for fans and athletes alike.
A panel discussion followed, featuring senior executives from across sport and technology:

- Lawrence Lisfon, Head of Data & Analytics, Champion Data
- Pat Clifton, Chief Operating Officer, Adelaide Crows
The panel explored practical examples of how sporting organisations are testing and implementing new technologies, leveraging data for performance and storytelling, and partnering with innovators to unlock new capabilities across competition, operations and fan engagement. The discussion was moderated by Luke van Kempen, Advisory Services Director at 54.
The event also featured a Sportstech Showcase Series, shining a spotlight on three South Australian sportstech startups. CME Group, Cellr and Club Ducks showcased their companies as well as shared learnings and successes from their participation in ASTN programs, funded by the State Government.
The Showcase provided attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with founders and technology leaders, reinforcing the depth of capability within South Australia’s sportstech sector.
Through events like this, ASTN continues to support stronger connections between sport and technology, helping Australian sportstech companies accelerate adoption, validate solutions and access global opportunities.
